This reference page consolidates Australia Post international postage rates for 2026 across all four main outbound services: International Letters, Large Letters, Pack & Track parcels, and Express Mail International (EMS). Rates are expressed in Australian dollars and organised by destination zone and weight tier. Australia Post revises its pricing each 1 July; the figures below reflect the schedule effective after that date. Always confirm the live rate on auspost.com.au before booking a shipment.
This page covers dollar rates. For a country-by-country breakdown of which zone each destination falls into, see our companion reference: Australia Post international rate bands: country reference.
Australia Post offers four primary international outbound services, each suited to different item sizes, weights, and urgency levels:
| Service | Max weight | Tracking | Typical transit | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| International Letter | 50 g | No | 6-25 business days | Standard envelopes, documents |
| International Large Letter | 500 g | No | 6-25 business days | Padded satchels, booklets, flat items |
| Pack & Track International | 20 kg | Yes | 10-25 business days | Most parcels where price matters more than speed |
| Express Mail International (EMS) | 20 kg | Yes | 2-10 business days | Time-sensitive parcels, documents |
Australia Post groups international destinations into pricing zones. Higher zone numbers generally correspond to longer distances and higher rates, though the zone assignment also reflects commercial volume and bilateral postal agreements. The main zones referenced in the tables below are:
For the full list of which country sits in which zone, see the rate bands country reference.
Standard international letters are priced at a flat rate regardless of destination zone. The envelope must be no larger than C5 (162 x 229 mm) and weigh no more than 50 g. Items that do not fit within these dimensions or exceed the weight limit must use the Large Letter or parcel services below.
| Destination | Rate (AUD, approx.) |
|---|---|
| Worldwide (all zones) | ~$3.20 |
Large Letters include padded satchels, booklets and flat items too heavy for the standard letter rate. They are priced by zone and weight band. The maximum dimensions are 260 x 385 mm and 20 mm thick. No tracking is included; consider Pack & Track for anything valuable.
| Weight | Zone 1 (NZ/Pacific) | Zone 2 (Asia) | Zone 3 (Americas/Europe/UK) | Zone 4 (Rest of world) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 100 g | ~$5.50 | ~$6.30 | ~$7.50 | ~$7.50 |
| Up to 250 g | ~$7.50 | ~$9.00 | ~$11.00 | ~$11.00 |
| Up to 500 g | ~$10.00 | ~$13.00 | ~$15.50 | ~$15.50 |
Pack & Track is Australia Post's standard tracked parcel service and covers most consumer shipments. Prices below are approximate AUD for a standard box or satchel at the stated weight. Dimensional weight (volumetric) pricing may apply to bulky light items; the greater of actual and dimensional weight is charged.
| Weight | Zone 1 (NZ/Pacific) | Zone 2 (Asia) | Zone 3 (Americas/Europe/UK) | Zone 4 (Rest of world) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 500 g | ~$26 | ~$32 | ~$40 | ~$47 |
| Up to 1 kg | ~$35 | ~$46 | ~$62 | ~$74 |
| Up to 2 kg | ~$55 | ~$72 | ~$98 | ~$119 |
| Up to 3 kg | ~$67 | ~$90 | ~$120 | ~$148 |
| Up to 5 kg | ~$82 | ~$122 | ~$168 | ~$204 |
| Up to 10 kg | ~$125 | ~$195 | ~$265 | ~$325 |
| Up to 20 kg | ~$205 | ~$335 | ~$455 | ~$560 |
EMS is Australia Post's fastest outbound international service. It uses priority air routing and is typically accepted by customs ahead of standard mail streams at most destinations. Surcharges apply at the destination for customs brokerage in some countries; these are charged by the receiving postal operator, not by Australia Post.
| Weight | Zone 1 (NZ/Pacific) | Zone 2 (Asia) | Zone 3 (Americas/Europe/UK) | Zone 4 (Rest of world) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 500 g | ~$40 | ~$55 | ~$70 | ~$80 |
| Up to 1 kg | ~$54 | ~$79 | ~$100 | ~$118 |
| Up to 2 kg | ~$77 | ~$118 | ~$155 | ~$185 |
| Up to 5 kg | ~$126 | ~$210 | ~$295 | ~$360 |
| Up to 10 kg | ~$196 | ~$340 | ~$490 | ~$610 |
| Up to 20 kg | ~$330 | ~$590 | ~$870 | ~$1,100 |
For high-value or time-critical items above about 2 kg to Europe, North America or the Middle East, DHL Express often undercuts AusPost EMS on both price and transit time once volume-based rates are applied. HotSnail customers can request a DHL quote at the point of checkout. See our full AusPost vs DHL comparison for a side-by-side on price, coverage, and customs handling.
